Luang Prabang, the Province of World Heritage town, Laos

Luang prabang province LaosLocated in the northern of Laos, Luang Prabang is renowed for their wonderfull landscape and as being the cultural and religious capital of Laos. 

On the 2nd December 1995, UNESCO inscribed the Luang Prabang town on to its World Heritage List. 

Nowadays, Luang Prabang is the premier tourist destination and maybe the southeast Asia's most beautiful spot.

Tourists who come to Luang Prabang are charmed by the friendly atmosphere of this small town.

Indeed, the Luang Prabang province is mostly known for its Buddhist temples, for its museums, for its French colonial architecture and for its handmade production.

Besides, tourists can buy all sort of locally handmade products at the night market in Luang Prabang but also directly from the producers village.

Wat Xieng Thong

Wat Xieng Thong - Luang Prabang Province - Laos

The National Museum, constructed in 1904. Various royal religions objects are displayed in the large entrance hall. Many gifts from foreign envoys (including a rock brought back from the moon!) and religious and cultural artifacts are on display here including the 14th century gold Phabang (Buddha image) from which Luang Prabang derives its name.
