Tad Sae Waterfall in Luang Prabang Province

Activity type : Waterfalls in Laos

The Tad Sae waterfall is close to the Ban Amen village on the Nam Khan River, at about 25 kilometers from the Luang Prabang city, on the south road going up to Vientiane.
the Tadsae waterfall offers one of the most spectacular natural environment in Laos, more especially during the rain season, or during the few weeks following this period. Indeed, it has a very unequal flow, sometimes even non-existant for the rest of the year.

Tad Sae is only reached by boat, making it quite an adventure and an opportunity to retreat into nature and get close to the locals.
If you prefer peace and tranquillity then you’re better off visiting during the week.
The water is cool, and offers to the swimmers a refreshing dip more especially from August through to November.

The cascades of Tad Sae offer great opportunities to take photo of the water which teems over the multi-levelled rocks.

The place is very popular with locals and they have for custom to bathe fully clothed. So, to avoid any problems, it’s best to dress modestly like them.

Most locals bring something to sit on and enjoy a picnic close to the falls.
